SIPADAN WATER VILLAGE RESORT

About the Resort
Sipadan Water Village is a resort beautifully constructed with Bajau architectural design. Part of the Mabul Island is also home to groups of Bajau fishermen who have built their traditional palm thatched houses. The entire resort is built over water on stilts made of Belian Wood commonly called ironwood, laid in certain points so as to minimise damage to the existing reef. In its design, Sipadan Water Village has achieved near utopia in its over-the-water layout, splendid water cottage accommodations with flowered sidewalks, wonderfully prepared Asian and Continental cuisine, and impeccable and personable service. Sipadan Water Village international staffs of dive guides and instructors pride themselves on knowing the intricacies of their reefs and willing to share their macro subject secrets with anyone interested.

About the Diving
The Resort has daily boat going to Sipadan Island for those who would like to dive there, which is about 15 minutes away.

The diving at Sipadan Island is limited due to the restriction. Therefore each diver is only allowed to do one or two dives per day (subject to entry permit approval). Dive sites and diving schedule will be arranged at the discretion of the resort management.

The UNLIMITED BEACH DIVING mentioned below are dives from Mabul’s House Reef and includes night diving (without dive master and boat). Tanks, weights and weight belt are provided; all other equipment must be brought by the diver or rented.

How to Get Here
Take a short 45 minutes domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau.
Meet at Tawau Airport and transferred to Semporna Jetty (Harbor) by van. Journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 min drive. Transfer to Mabul Resort by speedboat. Boat ride takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes depending on sea and weather condition.

Semporna jetty to Mabul Island  : 09:30hrs; 12:00hrs & 15:30hrs
Mabul Island to Semporna Jetty : 06:30hrs; 10:00hrs & 14:00hrs

Note for NON DIVING/SNORKELING Package:
Please take note snorkeling equipment will be provided for guests who wish to snorkel in SWV house reef, Paradise 1 and 2 between 0800hrs to 1800hrs. Package is ONLY inclusive 1 boat snorkeling to Kalapai Island .

Additional boat snorkeling trip (Kapalai or Sipadan or other part of Mabul Island) is chargeable at RM50.00 per person per trip. This includes snorkeling equipment and snorkeling guide.

RM 115 per dive will be charged for the non-diving package guest with certified diving licence who wish to go for boat dive; diving equipment is not included in the package.

• Unlimited shore diving at Mabul’s House Reef from 06;00 AM to 06:00PM with buddy
• Use of tanks with air, weights and weight belt

Note for Divers:
Full set of scuba diving equipment is NOT included in the package. However guest may rent it at the resort's Dive Center. Full set rental is charged at RM80.00 per day, inclusive of BCD, regulator mask, snorkel, fins and booties. The resort scuba tank is K-valve 12L aluminium tanks. NITROX is available at RM35.00 per tank at the Dive Center.

Night Dive:
Dive center also offer guided night dive in SWV house reef (Paradise 1 or 2). Night dive is charged RM 50.00 and will be collected in the resort. To participate in the night dive required 50 logged dive with at least one night dive experience for Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver with certified night dive.
For those do not fulfill the above requirement can sign up for Discover Night Dive for RM 100.00 depend on availability of dive instructor.

Sipadan Dive Trip
Important Information About Diving in Sipadan
Entering Sipadan Island, require permit and may not be approved on certain days if the quota is exceeded. Approval is issued by Sabah Park early one day before entering therefore would not be able to tell in advance. Guest can dive in Sipadan will be charged RM 40.00 per person per day and that can be paid at the resort. Sipadan at this present moment only allowed 120 persons per day. Amazing Borneo and Sipadan Water Village Resort hold no responsibility for not being able to dive everyday in Sipadan due to conservation done by our Government. The resort only try their best to arrange every of our guests to dive at Sipadan.

What Happens If There Are No Sipadan Permits Available at SWV Resort?
There is NO Guarantee that we can obtain permits due to limited spaces especially if it is a last minute request. In the event that there are no Sipadan permits available during your stay at Sipadan Water Village (SWV), the Resort Management may endeavour to assist you to book permit from other resorts (upon eques). You will therefore have to bear the permit charges from other resorts which the amount will be advised accordingly at the resort itself. This price (varies from RM 150 to RM 300 per permit per day) is subject to change and will be updated every now and then. Guest is to pay for the permit and boat fees at the resort according to the current rate. This will be subject to your approval. Please note that Sipadan permit is not guaranteed and there is no first come first serve basis.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping service is conducted once daily. Towels are provided in the bathroom for guest personal use in their respective cottage. For scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and other recreational activities, coloured towels are available at the Diving Centre and Reception at no additional charge. Small coloured towels are also provided in respective rooms for camera/video cleaning.

Dining Hall
The open-air restaurant has a seating capacity of 150 people at one time. Meals time is as follows:

Dinner                    1930hrs to 2100hrs
Meals are served in buffet style featuring a mixture of local and continental cuisine.

Bar Lounge
The bar lounge located in the main building next to the reception counter is open from 0900hrs until midnight.

Mini Mart
Mini Mart is open from 0900hrs to 2100hrs selling various souvenir items ranging from t-shirts, post-cards, caps, towels with Sipadan Water Village logo and many more.

Boat Snorkeling
Boat snorkeling trip (Kapalai or Sipadan or other part of Mabul Island) is chargable at RM 50 per person per trip. This including snorkeling equipment, a snorkeling guide and the boat trip.

Molokini Transparent Kayak
5 units of this kind of Kayak is available at our Dive Center for rental. 1 hour is chargeable at RM 30.00.

Fishing Trip
(a) Reef Fishing - RM500.00
(b) Deep Sea Fishing - RM900.00
** The charges include hand finshing line, bait, guide and cooking service for the caught fishes**

Things To Note:

• Please take note that it would not be possible for us to do the transfer directly to the resort on the same day if the arrival is late as it would be dark for the boat transfer and is not advisable for safety reason.
• Please advice to take flight before or at 1400hrs arrival at Tawau Airport for direct transfer to Sipadan Water Village Resort, Mabul.
• Night transfer charges will apply after 1800hrs for the transfer from Tawau Airport to any respective hotel (either in Tawau or Semporna Hotel).
• Catching the earliest departure flight from Tawau Airport would also not be possible as the departure from the resort will have to be extremely early and it would be dark and hence not advisable for safety reasons.
• Amazing Borneo or the resort will not obligate or compensate for waiting too long in the airport or flight delay. However, our side will assist the guests shall they need any assistance from us.

Terms & Conditions

• All reservation MUST provide the following information: Name as per passport, Passport Number, Nationality, Date of Birth, Gender, Contact Number & Flight details
• Package Excludes: Diving equipments & gears, beverages, laundry, room service, airfares and item not mentioned or specified in the packages
• Extension Stay: Extension Night Stay is permitted subject to the accommodation availability
• After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilized
• Weather conditions: We cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season
