DAY 01 SHANGRI-LA TANJUNG ARU RESORT & SPA Arrive at Kota Kinabalu where you will be greeted and transferred to Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa DAY 02 KOTA KINABALU CITY TOUR / MARI MARI CULTURAL VILLAGE Half day city tour followed by cultural visit to Mari Mari Cultural Village to know more of the tribes in Sabah and the different types of home each tribe is staying. Have fun and enjoy the cultural shows performed by the tribes before proceeding for a delectable traditional lunch. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, Lunch DAY 03 PADAS WHITE WATER RAFTING Depart for Padas White Water Rafting. Journey will take approximately 2 hours passing through the countryside offering views of paddy fields and villages. After lunch, take a century old train ride that traverse the Padas Gorge offering views of the Murut tribe villages and the Padas River. Arrive at starting point and enjoy the exhilarating ride down the rapids. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, Lunch DAY 04 KINABALU PARK & PORING HOT SPRING TOUR / SEAFOOD DINNER Kinabalu Park is Malaysia first World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO for its outstanding universal values and the role as one of the most important biological site in the world. Located on the west coast of Sabah; it covers an area of 754 square kilometers surrounding Mount Kinabalu, which at 4095.2 meters, is the highest mountain between the Himalaya and New Guinea. The park is one of the most popular tourists spot in Sabah as well as in Malaysia. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Full Board DAY 05 BEAUTIFUL ISLAND HOPPING (TARP) Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TARP) consists of a cluster of islands comprising Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug. The five islands of the Marine Park are characterized by shallow waters, sumptuous coral gardens and all boast splendid white sandy beaches. The islands of Sapi, Manukan and Mamutik lure in and tempt tourists from all over the continents, thanks to its colorful coral reefs and diverse marine life. Immerse yourself in crystal clear water or bask in the sun with a book in your hand while enjoying the island life. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, BBQ Lunch DAY 06 DANUM VALLEY / BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE On a sprawling 438 square kilometer undisturbed lowland dipterocarp forest,lies nature's jewel called the Danum Valley Conservation Area. This area boasts one of the richest conservation areas in the world with over 200 species of tree per hectare thriving in it. Take a flight to Lahad Datu and transfer by land to Danum Valley Conservation Area. Check into Borneo Rainforest Lodge and take a "Night Drive" in an open-air jeep in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight: Borneo Rainforest Lodge Meal: Full Board DAY 07 JUNGLE TREKKING / KADAZANDUSUN BURIAL SITE Visit the ancient Kadazandusun burial site, complete with belian coffins and ceramic spirit jars. You may also take a dip in the jacuzzi pool that is leech-free and safe for swimming. Later in the evening, go for trekking searching for wildlife. The lowland rainforest is home to many birds and mammals. Orange Utans, gibbons, and other primates, including the tarsier, as well as deer, wild cats and the rare Borneon Pygmy Elephant may be seen. Other notable species that inhabit the area are the Sun Bear and Sumatran Rhino. Overnight: Borneo Rainforest Lodge Meal: Full Board DAY 08 LAHAD DATU / SANDAKAN / GOMANTONG CAVES / BILIT RAINFOREST LODGE After breakfast, depart at 7:00hrs back to Lahad Datu. Proceed to Gomantong Caves located in the heartland of the Gomantong Forest Reserve. Explore the biggest bird’s nest cave in Sabah and the best-managed edible bird’s nest in the world. Continue to Kinabatangan River known as one of the world's richest ecosystems and the largest concentration of wildlife in South East Asian region until arrive to Kampung Bilit Jetty. Take a boat transfer to Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Welcome drink, short briefing and check-in. Lunch at Bilit Restaurant. At 1600hrs join a river cruise in search of Proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife along the river bank. Overnight: Bilit Rainforest Lodge, Sukau Meal: Full Board DAY 09 KINABATANGAN RIVER CRUISE / OX-BOW LAKE / JUNGLE WALK Early morning, wake up to the calls of gibbons, hornbills and witness the morning rising of the sun. Join a morning cruise for bird watching. Jungle walk along the trail then cruise back. Return to lodge for late breakfast. Free at leisure. Lunch at Bilit Restaurant. At 1600hrs join a river cruise in search of more species primates and wildlife along the Kinabatangan River bank. Overnight: Bilit Rainforest Lodge, Sukau Meal: Full Board DAY 10 SELINGAN TURTLE ISLAND After breakfast, return to Sandakan and transfer to the Sandakan seafront jetty.Speed boat departs for Selingan Island, the main nesting area for green andhawksbill turtle, which lies 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea off Sabah'seast coast. Boat journey is approximately 1 hour. Check into simple accommodation facility and relax by the beach or take up snorkel at the nearbyreefs. After dinner, Park Ranger will signal the appropriate time to view huge Green and Hawksbill turtles coming ashore to lay eggs. Witness the eggs being transferred to hatchery from the nesting site. Offer help to release baby turtles onto the shore and be overwhelmed by the emotion of seeing the turtles scrambling to the open sea by some natural instinct. Since the introduction of a conservative program in Selingan Island in 1967, a large number of turtles are now returning to lay their eggs and the chance to see the sea creature is almost certain every night. DAY 11 SEPILOK ORANG UTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE / SANDAKAN CITY TOUR
After breakfast depart at 0700hrs, return to Sandakan. Proceed to the world famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. Watch the video show documentary rehabilitation at orphaned Orang Utan before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to view the feeding platform. Witness the feeding of Orang Utan at 1000hrs. Lunch and continue to Sandakan City Tour. Visit Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Temple which offers a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay situated on the hilltop Tanah Merah. Sandakan Central Market, the most amazing variety of fresh seafood, and agricultural products. The Sim-Sim Water Village where houses are all built close to the water surface while observing the fascinating view of the sea. After tour transfer to Sabah Hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. Overnight: Sabah Hotel (4 star) Meal: Breakfast, Lunch DAY 12 SANDAKAN AIRPORT After breakfast, transfer to Sandakan Airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. Meal: Breakfast

About Sukau Bilit Rainforest Lodge: Situated on the river bank of Lower Kinabatangan River, approximately 2 hours drive from Sandakan Town, the lodge is built on stilts from local hardwood materials and are beautifully designed to blend into nature giving a unique local native ambience in the midst of the tropical rainforest. A boardwalk connects the jetty, restaurant and all the chalets. It offers comfort and peaceful relaxation as well as a base for exploration of the incredible diversity of plant, mammal and bird life at the Kinabatangan region.
Birdlife is especially rich here including eight species of hornbills, kingfishers, egrets, darters, owls, kites, eagles, broadbills, doves, storm storks, herons, hawks, ospreys, falcon, pheasants, parakeets, bee eaters, woodpeckers, pittas, bulbuls, forktails, babblers, warblers, flycatchers, orioles, flowerpeckers, spiderhunters, among others.
A chance to get close with the wildlife of Borneo here including the endemic Borneon pygmy elephant, endemic proboscis monkeys, gibbons, macaques, orang utans, Sumatran rhinos, estuarine crocodiles, wild boars, sun bears and many others.
