DAY 01 SHANGRI-LA TANJUNG ARU RESORT & SPA Arrive at Kota Kinabalu where you will be greeted and transferred to Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa DAY 02 KOTA KINABALU CITY TOUR / MARI MARI CULTURAL VILLAGE Half day city tour followed by cultural visit to Mari Mari Cultural Village to know more of the tribes in Sabah and the different types of home each tribe is staying. Have fun and enjoy the cultural shows performed by the tribes before proceeding for a delectable traditional lunch. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, Lunch DAY 03 PADAS WHITE WATER RAFTING Depart for Padas White Water Rafting. Journey will take approximately 2 hours passing through the countryside offering views of paddy fields and villages. After lunch, take a century old train ride that traverse the Padas Gorge offering views of the Murut tribe villages and the Padas River. Arrive at starting point and enjoy the exhilarating ride down the rapids. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, Lunch DAY 04 KINABALU PARK & PORING HOT SPRING TOUR / SEAFOOD DINNER Kinabalu Park is Malaysia first World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO for its outstanding universal values and the role as one of the most important biological site in the world. Located on the west coast of Sabah; it covers an area of 754 square kilometers surrounding Mount Kinabalu, which at 4095.2 meters, is the highest mountain between the Himalaya and New Guinea. The park is one of the most popular tourists spot in Sabah as well as in Malaysia. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Full Board DAY 05 BEAUTIFUL ISLAND HOPPING (TARP) Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TARP) consists of a cluster of islands comprising Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug. The five islands of the Marine Park are characterized by shallow waters, sumptuous coral gardens and all boast splendid white sandy beaches. The islands of Sapi, Manukan and Mamutik lure in and tempt tourists from all over the continents, thanks to its colorful coral reefs and diverse marine life. Immerse yourself in crystal clear water or bask in the sun with a book in your hand while enjoying the island life. Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast, BBQ Lunch DAY 06 FREE AT LEISURE Overnight: Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa Meal: Breakfast DAY 07 SANDAKAN / SEPILOK / KINABATANGAN RIVER CRUISE Pick up from Sandakan airport, transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve for video show. Visit the Nature Education Centre to learn about the rehabilitation of orphaned orang utan before trekking through the lowland rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the wild orang utan at 10am. Continue the journey (approximately 2 hours drive) to Kinabatangan River, Sukau. Journey to Sukau will pass by Oil Palm Plantations and rustic countryside studded with villages. Arrive at Kampung Bilit, Sukau. Take a short boat transfer to Sukau Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Time for orientation and check in. Lunch will be provided. Late afternoon, take a river cruise in search of proboscis monkeys, different species of birds & other wildlife along the river bank. One may also catch a glimpse of a wild Orang Utan, leaf monkeys, gibbons, macaques or the newly discovered “Borneon Pgymy Elephants”. Return for solar heated hot shower, buffet dinner and slide show. After dinner, you can go for an optional night safari cruise (at a surcharge) where you can spot nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds Overnight: Bilit Rainforest Lodge, Sukau Meal: Full Board DAY 08 OXBOW LAKE Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills at 6am. A morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to view more birds and wildlife. Proceed to the ox-bow lake for a short jungle walk for bird watching (if weather permits). Experience the wilderness of Borneo. After lunch, free at leisure. Take another river cruise in the late afternoon to see more wildlife along the Sukau Kinabatangan River Bank. Overnight: Bilit Rainforest Lodge, Sukau Meal: Full Board DAY 09 GOMANTONG CAVE / CITY TOUR / SABAH HOTEL Early morning, depart for Gomantong cave located within the Gomantong forest reserve. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the plank walk to the cave. Explore the largest bird's nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of bats and swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous Chinese edible bird nest soup. After lunch, proceed for Sandakan city tour. Visit various landmarks and historical points in Sandakan, once known as the "Little Hong Kong." Visit Buli Sim Sim water village, Central Market & Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple for a panoramic view of Sandakan town and across the huge bay. After the tour, check into 4* Sabah Hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight:Sabah Hotel Meal: Full Board DAY 10 SANDAKAN AIRPORT Afterbreakfast, depart early to Sandakan Airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. Meal: Breakfast

About Sukau Bilit Rainforest Lodge: Situated on the river bank of Lower Kinabatangan River, approximately 2 hours drive from Sandakan Town, the lodge is built on stilts from local hardwood materials and are beautifully designed to blend into nature giving a unique local native ambience in the midst of the tropical rainforest. A boardwalk connects the jetty, restaurant and all the chalets. It offers comfort and peaceful relaxation as well as a base for exploration of the incredible diversity of plant, mammal and bird life at the Kinabatangan region.
Birdlife is especially rich here including eight species of hornbills, kingfishers, egrets, darters, owls, kites, eagles, broadbills, doves, storm storks, herons, hawks, ospreys, falcon, pheasants, parakeets, bee eaters, woodpeckers, pittas, bulbuls, forktails, babblers, warblers, flycatchers, orioles, flowerpeckers, spiderhunters, among others.
A chance to get close with the wildlife of Borneo here including the endemic Borneon pygmy elephant, endemic proboscis monkeys, gibbons, macaques, orang utans, Sumatran rhinos, estuarine crocodiles, wild boars, sun bears and many others.
